In this blog, I am going to focus on what goes on in the mind of most men when they shop for an engagement ring. And on my next blog I’ll discuss the ladies mindset when it comes to purchasing a diamond ring. We have all heard about the 4C’s right? – Cut, Clarity, Colour and Carat. Most men are concerned about this and yes they will give due consideration to the 4C’s when purchasing a diamond. There is also a 5th’C on the mind of most men, that’s called a credit card!
Most men normally want the best diamond at the best possible price. If you plan to surprise your future wife, my suggestion to you is that you firstly need to determine your budget. You should also have some idea of the ring design. I believe your primary concern should be the design and the shape of the diamond. So pay close attention to what she likes and be perceptive when window shopping or any remarks she may make about a ring she has seen and liked. If she hasn’t dropped any hints then I would undergo a personality profile to give me some idea of what she may like. Even a picture of her hand helps. This will help me to determine the thickness and the height setting of the diamond.
