Where It All Started
Born in Nea Fokeas, a small village in Halkidiki, Greece, Arthur Pallas had his first job at the age of 13 delivering coffee and on his journey, he met a jeweller that offered him a job handmaking chains, from there he began his jewellery career.
In 1967 Arthur migrated to Australia and was employed by Constantine’s Jewellery Box in Lonsdale St, Melbourne. He became their Production Manager and had Nick Vrettas as his apprentice.
In 1982 Arthur Pallas opened Bluestone Jewellers, his very first jewellery boutique and manufacturing workshop in Box Hill which was highly regarded for its craftmanship and reputation that earned him a loyal following.
In 1997 Arthur and his former apprentice Nick Vrettas opened their boutique and manufacturing workshop, Diamond Affaire in Melbourne’s historic Royal Arcade.
Inheriting a passion for diamonds and jewellery, Arthur’s son Steve began working alongside his father at an early age and pursued his passion to learn the trade and become a Master Jeweller that quickly developed to become director and business partner in place of his retiring father.
In 2005 the business outgrew the Royal Arcade boutique and Diamond Affaire moved into a larger premise in its current location, LG 62 Hardware Lane, Melbourne under the name of GN Designer Jewellers. The previous owners, Nick Pappas and George Pappas retired from the business, but retained a close relationship within the business.
In December 2018 Steve wanted to continue his journey at GN Designer Jewellers forming and shaping it to his vision. Nick Vrettas sold his share of the business to Steve Pallas. Steve’s commitment to providing his clients with impeccable service and quality is his top priority and continues to grow a loyal following with his existing and new clientele.
In April 2020, GN Designer Jewellers officially changed their business name to Steve Pallas Bespoke Jewellery. It was important for Steve to change the name so it would accurately reflect his brand by focusing on his forte – Bespoke Jewellery.
